The Dr. Lynne Boyle/John Schimpf College Scholarships are perfect for media majors (journalism, video production, broadcasting) who are currently enrolled in an accredited Michigan institution with 45+ credit hours accumulated. To apply, submit two letters of recommendation from faculty members, a one-page personal statement about your career and personal goals, and a maximum three-minute long compilation film or video showcasing your work as the principal writer, director, producer, editor, photographer, principal actor, or functioning in a similar major creative role. Don’t forget to include proof of registration/acceptance to your accredited institution and the application form found on the scholarship site. Be sure to e-mail your application to submit and make sure the subject line states the name of the scholarship.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, founded in 1947, is the only non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievement, raising industry standards, and improving the quality of television. The Michigan Chapter was chartered by the National Academy in 1978 and includes the entire state of Michigan.
