Are you a college-bound, high school senior from Alaska who is planning to enroll full-time at a University of Alaska campus to pursue an undergraduate degree in the health sciences? If so, consider applying for the Dr. John Halligan Scholarship Fund! Each year, the scholarship awards $2,500 to one incoming undergraduate, health sciences student from Alaska who will be attending a University of Alaska campus. This scholarship was named in honor of Dr. John Halligan, who, after retiring from the military, fulfilled a decades-long dream and moved to Alaska to become the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Providence Alaska Medical Center. He has since expanded state-of-the-art cancer care in Alaska by opening Radiation Oncology Clinics in Soldotna, Juneau, and the MatSu Valley so Alaskans could receive care closer to their homes.
