The Distinguished Young Women awards are given to participants in the local, state, and national levels of competition. To be eligible, applicants must be female, high school juniors or seniors, and legal residents of the county and state in which they’re competing. Participants are evaluated on scholastic achievement, interview, talent, fitness, and public speaking. The number of awards and their amount vary from year to year. Be aware that to qualify for or win any of the scholarships offered by Distinguished Young Women, you must participate in a program for your area.
