  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

Scholarship Overview

Are you a current or incoming undergraduate student residing in Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, or Delaware who is the child of a deceased organ, tissue, or cornea donor? If so, you may be eligible for the David Nelson Jr. Memorial Fund. Each year, the scholarship awards $1,000 to the applicant who submits the best ~500-word essay “describing how donation has touched his or her life.” Applicants must also be under the age of 25. If you’re from Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, or Delaware, and are the child of a deceased organ/tissue/cornea donor, we encourage you to apply. Keep on reading to learn more.

Serving more than 11.3 million people across the eastern half of Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, they work to help and heal lives by coordinating the recovery and distribution of organs and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplants.
