Offered by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
DAAD Group Study Visits grants are intended to establish and maintain contacts between German and US/Canadian universities and offer insight into current issues in the academic, scientific, economic, political and cultural realms. Each group should consist of 10 to 15 students (plus one accompanying faculty member) affiliated with an accredited US and Canadian university. DAAD offers funds up to around $9,600 to subsidize room and board, depending on the size of the group and length of stay (50 per participant per day). Applications should include: statement of reasons and description of program content outlining exactly how this trip ties into the curriculum; detailed itinerary; proof of contacts on the German side, especially in higher education; and an itemized total budget. Application deadlines are on the 1st day of November, February, and May every year.
The DAAD supports the internationalization of German universities, promotes German studies and the German language abroad, provides developing countries with best practices in establishing universities and advises decision makers in the area of cultural, educational and developmental policy.
