The D. Fred and Marian L. Bovie Technical Scholarship was established to provide scholarship funding to a student pursuing a minimum two-year associate’s degree in welding. To apply, applicants must submit two letters of recommendation and a transcript along with their application.

The American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919, as a nonprofit organization with a global mission: Advancing the science, technology, and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes, including brazing, soldering and thermal spraying.
