The Christopher Mark Pitkin Memorial Scholarship is looking for driven Southern California residents who (1) have had their lives affected by a bleeding disorder and (2) have a passion for achieving their goals. If you or an immediate family member have a bleeding disorder and you have been accepted into an educational or vocational institution, you may be eligible for this opportunity! This scholarship, awarding up to $1,000 each to multiple recipients annually, is offered each year in memory of the late Christopher Mark Pitkin, a health policy consultant and advocate, a leader in the hemophilia community, former president of the Foundation, and friend of many.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be Southern California residents with either a bleeding disorder or have an immediate family member with one, with priority given to those with bleeding disorders. Applicants must also reside in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Kern, Inyo, or Santa Barbara County. Those actively involved with HFSC, as well as applicants demonstrating Christopher’s same impressive goal-orientation, will receive priority consideration.

The Foundation focuses on improving the quality of life and building community for those living with inherited bleeding disorders in Southern California. They serve 9 counties: Kern, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Inyo.
