The Central (Undergraduate) Scholarship annually awards between $1,000 and $11,000 to Maryland residents with a minimum 2.8 GPA who are planning to attend an accredited college, university, or community college in the upcoming academic year. To apply, students must submit a thoughtful, cohesive essay answering the prompt, as well as a transcript. Central Scholarship is a nonprofit, privately funded organization, founded in 1924, that provides scholarships, grants and also interest-free loans to students from Maryland who are attending accredited undergraduate, graduate, or vocational schools anywhere in the USA.
