The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

Scholarship Overview

The Center for Architecture Design Scholarship annually awards up to $5,000 to deserving students acquiring their first professional degree in architecture, design, engineering, planning, or a related discipline in a program within New York State. The dean or chair of any architectural school or accredited design program may invite up to two students from their respective colleges or universities to apply based on their high level of academic performance and evidence of financial need. Graduate students are also eligible if their undergraduate degree is in a field other than architecture.

About Center for Architecture

AIA New York, founded in 1857, is the oldest and largest chapter of the American Institute of Architects. AIA New York is dedicated to three goals: design excellence, public outreach, and professional development. The Chapter coordinates the activities of more than 25 committees and works with the Center for Architecture K-12 education and development teams to provide scholarship and educational opportunities for students and the general public.
