The Center for Architecture Design Scholarship annually awards up to $5,000 to deserving students acquiring their first professional degree in architecture, design, engineering, planning, or a related discipline in a program within New York State. The dean or chair of any architectural school or accredited design program may invite up to two students from their respective colleges or universities to apply based on their high level of academic performance and evidence of financial need. Graduate students are also eligible if their undergraduate degree is in a field other than architecture.

AIA New York, founded in 1857, is the oldest and largest chapter of the American Institute of Architects. AIA New York is dedicated to three goals: design excellence, public outreach, and professional development. The Chapter coordinates the activities of more than 25 committees and works with the Center for Architecture K-12 education and development teams to provide scholarship and educational opportunities for students and the general public.
This scholarship is open to students meeting the below eligibility criteria.
College & Graduate Students
Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Interior Design
In addition to the below application materials, student must submit a portfolio including three of their projects as examples of their work.
