Each year, the scholarship awards $3,000 to multiple applicants who “demonstrate a research commitment to smoking cessation, the psychology of habits or the cessation of other addictions.” This can be demonstrated by any of the following: majoring in Psychology or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, conducting/partaking in research related to smoking cessation while in college or a doctoral program, or being involved in fundraising or nonprofit organizations. To apply, interested students must submit a 2,000-word essay “outlining their plan for helping advance the quit smoking research” and a link or formal reference to their research project.
