Are you a high school senior residing in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, or Washington state? Further, are you planning on attending a college in one of the aforementioned states for the upcoming school year? If so, consider applying for the Cathay Bank Foundation Scholarship Program! Each year, the scholarship awards $1,000 to twenty applicants who fit the above criteria and demonstrate financial need. In order to apply, you need to submit an online application, recommender form, and high school transcript. The scholarship is offered by the Asian Pacific Community Fund, an organization created in response to the need for alternative funding for Los Angeles-based nonprofit organizations serving API communities. However, students of any major and ethnic/racial background are welcome to apply.
