The Cartis & Merkie Carpenter Scholarship is annually awarded to college-bound high school seniors attending Clay County High School, North Laurel High School, South Laurel High School, or Oneida Baptist Institute in Clay or Laurel County, Kentucky. This amount of this one-time award varies each year. To apply, interested students must submit their FAFSA Student Aid Report, a list of their extracurricular/community service activities, and a 500-1,000-word essay about why they believe they should receive the scholarship.
