  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

Scholarship Overview

The Bodie McDowell Scholarship Award is a fantastic opportunity for students in outdoor communications fields. Whether you’re into print, photography, film, art, poetry, or broadcasting, this scholarship is open to you. Undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible to apply. The Outdoor Writers Association of America, who sponsors the scholarship, is looking for candidates with clear, significant goals in outdoor communications, as well as examples of their work and letters of recommendation.
