The ASHS Scholars Award annually grants two scholarships worth $1,500 each to two deserving undergraduate students majoring in horticulture at a four-year institution of higher education. To qualify, applicants must be registered as full-time students, pursuing a degree in horticulture, and have a proven track record of academic excellence in the major and supporting areas of science. Additionally, applicants must have participated in extracurricular, leadership, and research activities related to horticulture, as well as university and community service. Finally, applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to the horticulture science profession and related career fields. While applicants must be nominated by the chair/head of their department, only one applicant per department may be nominated.
