Apprentice Ecologist Initiative
Apprentice Ecologist Initiative
Offered by Nicodemus Wilderness Project
Are you a middle, high school, or college student passionate about environmental cleanup and conservation efforts? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you: the Apprentice Ecologist Initiative! Each year, the initiative asks students to conduct their own environmental stewardship project, take a few photos of their project, write an essay about it, and submit their favorite project photo as well as their essay. After doing so, you will officially be an Apprentice Ecologist and your work will be published on the Global Registry of Apprentice Ecologists! Further, the authors of the top three essays will be awarded $1,750 and receive a personalized crystal award. The scholarship is offered by the Nicodemus Wilderness Project, an organization dedicated to “coordinating volunteer events worldwide that utilize the resources of the community to provide long-term environmental benefits for natural areas.”
If you believe in the importance of conservation and want to potentially start saving money for college, we encourage you to apply to the Apprentice Ecologist Initiative!
