If you are an undergraduate or graduate school student who is interested in “Right to Work” principles and how it applies to education, the Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship might be perfect for you! Funded by the National Institute of Labor Relations Research, the Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship was created to honor three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than refusing to pay union dues. Each year, one $1,000 scholarship is awarded to the education student who best exemplifies the dedication to principle and high professional standards of those three Michigan teachers (Carol Applegate, Kay Jackson, and Dr. Anne Parks).
