Are you a high school senior planning to study English or History at college? If so, consider applying for the Antonia Scholarship! The scholarship is open to college-bound high school seniors from U.S. high schools who plan to study English or History at university. The scholarship is funded by the Willa Cather Foundation, a non-profit organization formed in 1955. The foundation helps continue Cather’s legacy and supports the next generation of writers. The Ántonia Scholarship is in honor of Annie Sadilek Pavelka, the inspiration for characters in Cather’s stories “My Ántonia” and “Neighbour Rosicky.” Each year, one eligible applicant wins a $1,000 scholarship to help pay for their degree. If you are on the road to studying a History or English degree and would like some help paying for it, we encourage you to apply!
The scholarship is open to prospective first-year college students who are planning to pursue a degree in English or History at an accredited college or university.
