The American Legion Colonel Frederick B. Bowling, JROTC Cadet of the Year scholarship is an exclusive opportunity for Tennessee JROTC cadets who have been awarded with The American Legion General Military Excellence or Scholastic Award Medals and received the Certificate. The awarding of these medals must come from an adopting American Legion Post. Applicants must be recommended by their JROTC Senior Instructor. The American Legion Department of Tennessee is a war-time veterans community-service organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. The Department thus provides aid to veterans and sponsors youth programs to maintain an ongoing concern, support and commitment to the veteran community. In addition, the American Legion is strongly committed to maintaining a strong national defense.
