The Scholarships360 Research Team reviews all scholarships individually and strives to exclude any scholarship where any of the below applies:

  • The scholarship requires a fee to apply
  • The scholarship provider’s privacy policy allows for the misuse of student data
  • The scholarship requires paid membership in an organization (with certain exceptions for reputable trade organizations and others)
  • Student are required to sign up for a site or service to apply*
  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months
  • There is no available contact information

Scholarship Overview

The Alaska Geological Society Scholarship is open to students enrolled in a BA, BS, MS, or Ph.D. geoscience or equivalent degree program. To be considered, applicants must be completing a project or thesis/dissertation topic focused on Alaskan geology or a related geoscience topic. About Alaska Geological Society Inc.

The Alaska Geological Society's first meeting was held in Anchorage December 3, 1957, and since then, the group has continued to hold meetings on a regular basis. On October 7, 1958, membership dues were approved and on November 8, 1960, a membership of 39 approved a statement of purpose and by-laws. The group has grown steadily to the present total of 350 members. Diversity has been a source of strength for the Alaska Geological Society.
