The AHLA Foundation Academic Scholarship is the largest program offered by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation. It’s co-administered by a group of universities and colleges affiliated with the AHLA Foundation. The program awards scholarships valued up to $7,500 to students enrolled in hospitality-related bachelor’s degree programs at colleges and universities across the US. A list of affiliated schools can be found on the scholarship site. To qualify, applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (2.0 if receiving Conrad Hilton Funds), be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have completed 1-2 years of school depending on the program. The scholarship committee reviews financial need, GPA, extracurricular activities, honors and awards, work experience (including hospitality work experience), personal attributes, and responses to essay questions.
