  • The scholarship seems primarily used for lead generation** or idea harvesting purposes***
  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded
  • The scholarship has not been awarded in the past 12 months

Scholarship Overview

Are you a non-traditional student from Maine who is enrolled in a post-secondary program that will last more than one semester? If so, you may be eligible for the Adult Learner Long-term Scholarship Award! Each year, the program awards roughly between $1,500 and $2,500 to multiple nontraditional students from Maine who will earn a one- or two-year certificate or a two- or four-year degree by the end of their post-secondary program. To be considered a nontraditional student, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: (1) be over the age of 25, (2) work full time (35 hours/week or more) while enrolled, (3) have dependents other than a spouse, (4) be financially independent from parents and/or considered independent for FAFSA purposes, (5) have not received a standard high school diploma (completed with a GED, HiSET, or certificate of completion), or (6) have delayed enrollment in college after high school for a reason other than a gap-year activity.
