How to win leadership scholarships

As with any type of scholarship, it’s important to put your best foot forward when writing an essay for a leadership scholarship. This is your chance to show scholarship committees what you bring to the table. You should write about your past leadership experiences, what being a leader means to you, and how you plan to evolve as a leader moving forward. And remember to let your personality shine through! Scholarship committees review huge amounts of applications, so it’s important to write something that stands out.

Fortunately, we have a multitude of resources designed to help you do just that! These include guides on how to write a winning essay, how to write an essay about yourself, and how to start an essay and how to end an essay. Essays are one of the most important parts of your scholarship application, so give them the time and attention they deserve!

Frequently asked questions about leadership scholarships

How do you show leadership for scholarships?

Leadership can show many forms. It could be seen in involvement in your community through service, or leadership positions in school clubs or extracurriculars. Even independent projects which show initiative and innovation can count as leadership. Each leadership scholarship has its own definition of the term. However, it is never a bad bet to find some organizations and take on some responsibility at them.

What is the Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship?

Chick-fil-A offers a leadership scholarship to its team members that amounts to $2,500 per year over a maximum of four years. That means that as long as its recipients continue to work at Chick-fil-A, they can earn up to $10,000 in scholarship money. They require that recipients maintain a 2.5 GPA and participate in community service.
