Earlham is a small liberal arts school located in Richmond, Indiana. We’re made up of genuine, hardworking humans from around the globe who want to make big changes in their communities and the world—for good. We believe that an Earlham education should be accessible to all students, and we aim to make this belief a reality with generous financial aid.
More than 95 percent of Earlham students receive some form of financial assistance. In fact, we award more than $29 million in aid each year.
We award scholarships based on merit—all students automatically receive a merit scholarship starting at $30,000—and special interests. Thanks to the generosity of alumni donors, we also administer our own grant funds.
Earlham also offers special scholarships and programs for local and Indiana students. The Heartland Scholarship is a $2,000 per year scholarship for students living within a 150 mile radius of campus. Finally, through the INspire Earlham Program, income-eligible Indiana students can now attend Earlham College tuition-free.

Earlham is a member of the Colleges that Change Lives coalition. This is a coalition based on Loren Pope’s 1996 book about colleges that provide an education that is valuable beyond the numbers. There are many types of schools on this list, but the organization has vetted each school to ensure it is student-friendly, offering small classes and individual attention to each pupil. Midwest Student Tuition Exchange
Earlham is in a state that participates in the Midwest Student Exchange. That means that if you are a resident of Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, or Wisconsin, you may qualify for discounted tuition at Earlham. This program applies to both private and public institutions, although the discount at private institutions is lower. Pell Grants at Earlham College

The federal government awards Pell Grants to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need by filling out the FAFSA. Students with a bachelor’s or professional degree are not eligible. Is Earlham test-optional?

Students must apply by April 1 to enroll at Earlham during the fall semester.
