Georgia Tech Scholars Program
The Georgia Tech Scholars Program is designed to recruit and enroll academically talented students from across our state. Through this program, Georgia Tech will offer admission to valedictorians and salutatorians from Georgia high schools who meet the requirements.
Tech Promise Scholarship
The G. Wayne Clough Georgia Tech Promise Program is the first of its kind offered by a public university in Georgia. It provides a debt-free degree to qualifying students from low-income Georgia families, filling a gap in the financial aid support system by picking up where other scholarships and financial aid options leave off, covering a student’s full cost of attendance.

Using State Grants at Georgia Tech
If you're a Georgia resident interested in Georgia Tech, be sure to investigate whether you'd qualify for the HOPE Scholarship and/or the Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant Program. The HOPE Scholarship is for students who have made substantial academic achievements. The Tuition Equalization Grant is for students attending private schools, and it helps to make the cost of private school more comparable to public school. Georgia Tech participates in the Stamps Scholarship Program, which means that they offer recurring scholarships to select admitted students. These awards range between $6,000 to $90,000 per year. Many schools automatically consider admitted students for Stamps Scholarships. No Loan Policy at Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech is a no-loan school, which means that their financial aid packages offer students grants and scholarships in place of the federal loans that are typically part of a package. This means that their financial aid is more generous than most, and they help bridge the gap between cost and student need. Some no-loan schools offer this policy for all accepted students while others only extend it to students below a specific income level, or to in-state students. Do I qualify for an application fee waiver at Georgia Tech?
If your financial circumstances make it difficult for you to pay the application fee, you should complete the fee waiver area of the profile section of the Common Application. The eligibility criteria used for fee waivers is listed there and includes:
- You have received or are eligible to receive an ACT or SAT testing fee waiver.
- You are enrolled in or eligible to participate in the federal free or reduced price lunch program (FRPL).
- Your annual family income falls within the Income eligibility guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service.
- You are enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound).
- Your family receives public assistance.
- You live in a federally subsidized public housing, a foster home or are homeless.
- You are a ward of the state or an orphan.
- First-generation college students: If you are a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and neither of your parents completed a four-year college degree or the equivalent in the U.S or abroad, you are eligible for a fee waiver, which you will request in the Georgia Tech questions portion of the application.
- FEMA Declared Disaster Areas: We recognize that natural disasters can create significant disruptions for students, with long-lasting financial impacts. Students living in FEMA Declared Disaster areas may request a fee waiver in the Georgia Tech questions portions of the Common Application.
