    University of Central Florida Scholarships

    The University of Central Florida (UCF) offers a variety of merit-based scholarships, including the Pegasus Scholarship Programs to support students. Additionally, UCF students can apply for external scholarships from outside providers.

    Pegasus Scholarship Programs

    The University of Central Florida (UCF) Pegasus Scholarship Programs recognize incoming freshmen with outstanding academic achievements. These prestigious merit-based scholarships cover up to full tuition and fees for four years. There is no separate application; students are automatically considered when they apply for admission to UCF for summer or fall terms.

    UCF Departamental Scholarships

    Use UCF's Access 2 Opportunities (A2O) to access more than 200 scholarships offered by University of Central Florida and specific academic departments.

    Bright Futures Scholarship

    The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program awards merit-based scholarships to Florida high school graduates. It covers tuition and fees at eligible Florida colleges and universities. There are different scholarship tiers with varying requirements based on GPA, test scores, and community service hours. Students must file the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) to be considered.

    Since UCF is a public university, there are different costs for in-state students and out-of-state students. The sticker price at UCF is $24,036 for in-state students in FL, and $40,135 for out-of-state students. This sticker price includes costs for tuition, books and supplies, room and board, and other miscellaneous expenses.


    It’s also important to note that the cost of attendance can vary from year to year and typically it will rise over your four years in college. With that said, your financial aid will also be recalculated every year to take any price increases, as well as any changes in your financial situation, into account.

    Using State Grants at UCF

    If you are considering UCF and you are from the state of Florida, be sure to look into the Bright Futures program. This is a state-run grant for Florida high school students who will be going to school in-state. You can use the money at both public and private institutions. The grant can cover up to 100% of your educational expenses if you qualify for Florida Academic Scholars.

    University of Central Florida Financial Aid

    Students who are applying for financial aid at University of Central Florida need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or FAFSA).The FAFSA opens up on October 1st, and students should apply as soon as they can! The FAFSA uses financial information from the prior, prior year which means that you don’t need to wait for the year to end and can use last year’s financial information.

    Pell Grants at University of Central Florida

    27% of students at University of Central Florida receive Pell Grants, which are awarded to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need (students who have a bachelor’s or professional degree are not eligible). Pell Grants are awarded by the federal government and do not need to be repaid. To apply for a Pell Grant, students will need to submit their FAFSA. If you are awarded a Pell Grant, you’ll see it listed in your financial aid award letter if you are accepted to University of Central Florida.
