Pursuing higher education is one of the best ways individuals can achieve economic mobility and increase their earning potential. However, for nontraditional students, this pathway may seem difficult to pursue or nearly out of reach. Seeds of Fortune Inc. & Yale Women in Economics understand this struggle, and thus, the Yale Women in Economics Scholarship Program was born!
This is a 10-month program vowing to help young students through the college admissions process & financing higher education. To qualify, applicants must be young women of color who are enrolled in their junior year of high school, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have a household income that does not exceed $125,000. Scholars accepted to the program will gain access to interview prep, a Capstone Research Project Mentored by Yale Women in Economics students and Virtual Yale Professor Lectures, the opportunity to meet other ambitious students from traditionally underserved backgrounds, and a $2,000 scholarship to help with the Cost of Attendance to a (4) Day Yale residential overnight & Admissions visit. Besides this, the program is entirely virtual.
