Named for Captain Ben W. Carter, a Cherokee leader who lived amongst the region’s large Chickasaw population, Carter County, Oklahoma, has long been a center of oil and gas production in the state. It has also since become one of the state’s largest pecan producers. If you are a resident of Carter County, OK and see yourself also having a bountiful future, The MORE Foundation Scholarship Program may be a great opportunity for you!
To qualify for the program, individuals must be Carter County, Oklahoma high school seniors who either have (a) a minimum 2.8 GPA or (b) a minimum 21 ACT score. Applicants must also have a parental income between $35,000 and $100,000 (Adjusted Gross Income). However, if an applicant has one or more siblings enrolled full-time in a college/university, this limit INCREASES to $125,000. The scholarship is a four-year award granting $500 toward the recipient’s first four semesters of college and $1,000 for the last four semesters.
