Sason Sharify was a respected Greeley High School math teacher, athlete, and coach who tragically and suddenly passed in 2001. During his lifetime, he put in extreme effort to “help others challenge themselves and improve their academic and athletic performance.” Going beyond his expected duties, he even often reached out to his students year-round, offering workout suggestions, math tutorials, and post-graduation guidance to many of his student-athletes.
In his honor, the SasonsFund Scholarship was established just a year after his passing. To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be graduating seniors from Greeley Central or Greeley West high schools in Colorado. Applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be planning to attend any accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States, and participate in one or more varsity-level sports.
$2,500 will be granted to one student from Greeley Central High School and one from Greeley West High School each year. If you’re interested in this scholarship, we encourage you to explore other scholarships for students in Colorado as well as other athletic scholarships. Good luck with your scholarship search!
