Financial literacy, the ability to effectively understand and use various financial skills, such as personal financial management, budgeting, and investing, is an important skill to have throughout life. This is especially true as one transitions out of high school and into college and beyond. To encourage graduating high schoolers and current college students to improve their financial literacy skills, the Rise Scholarship is annually awarded to students who complete at least 8 units of FDIC financial literacy units (online).
To be eligible for this $2,500 scholarship, students must be graduating high school seniors or current post-secondary students residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Applicants must also have a household income that does not exceed $200% of the poverty line. To apply, students must then complete at least 8 units of FDIC financial literary units. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with no deadline.
If you’d like to learn more about how to manage your own money while potentially earning some, we encourage you to apply! When you’re done, don’t forget to check out our other Pennsylvania scholarships and no essay scholarships. Happy applying!
