Neil Collins was a hardworking, responsible man who could be counted on to keep his word. He worked hard to overcome the obstacles and challenges he faced, such as a learning disability, with courage. He was beloved by many, including his mother, Nancy Kidder, who established the Neil A. Collins Memorial Scholarship in his honor. This scholarship is awarded to adult students with learning disabilities who, like Neil, “embark on the journey of transformative learning and discover the amazing strengths they bring to it.”
In addition to having a learning disability, students must be enrolled at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, to qualify for the scholarship. Curry College students will be considered for the scholarship upon acceptance to the school – a separate scholarship application is not required. However, interested students are strongly encouraged to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
