Each year, their National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame HBCU Scholarship is awarded to current and incoming HBCU students who hold a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants should also have demonstrated active involvement in extracurricular activities. The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. is an organization founded in 1986 by Thomas W. Dortch, Jr. and the National Council of Alumni Associations members. The Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and growing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) through alumni recognition, scholarships, training and technical assistance and programs to promote humanitarian involvement. Their aim is to advance the reality that HBCU’s are valuable treasures and critical resources that "help transform seeds of potentiality into fruits of possibility."
