Offered by Swarthmore College
Established in 1952 by Thomas McCabe, a class of 1915 Swarthmore alumni, the National and Regional McCabe Scholarship annually recognizes Swarthmore students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, character, and leadership, especially in service to their school and community.
Each year, the scholarship awards a minimum annual grant of full tuition to multiple students. The award may be increased up to the full cost of tuition, fees, room, and board, depending on financial need. Today, the scholarship is granted annually to at least two incoming students from the Delmarva Peninsula, two from Southeastern Pennsylvania, three from the rest of the United States, at least one transfer student, and one international student for whom the award meets their full determined financial need. The scholarship may be received for up to four years, depending upon the maintenance of specific eligibility criteria.
