Myer and Lois Franklin were lifelong residents of Jackson County, Michigan who, thanks to the residents of their local community, were able to achieve great success. To give back to their fellow Jackson County locals, they established a scholarship to help Jackson County youth afford higher education.
To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be Jackson County, Michigan students who will be pursuing a professional certification, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree in the upcoming academic year. Selected recipients will earn between $1,000 and $5,000 each year, and may get it renewed upon the maintenance of certain eligibility criteria.
