Participating in community service is one of the best ways to get involved with and better know the people and issues within your local community. In an effort to award the Black women who have done admirable community service work, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter offers its very own scholarship program!
To qualify for the $5,000 scholarship, individuals must be Black female students currently enrolled in their last year of high school, or an undergraduate or graduate program. Applicants must also hold a minimum 2.75 GPA and have proof of their participation in community service. Bear in mind that while high school applicants must be graduating from a high school in Louisiana, post-secondary applicants may be attending a university anywhere in the United States. Special consideration may be given to those students who have participated in or worked on an NCBWMetroBR-related activity or event.

The Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter (NCBWMetroBR) of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. is a diverse group of change agents united through a shared vision to advocate for black women and girls across the nation. They aim to "set a standard of excellence, create a legacy of forward-thinking leaders, and serve their community through leadership, commitment, and service."
