Workplace incidents, no matter their level of severity, can have a devastating effect on a family. Beyond the emotional impact, it may also affect a family’s financial security. To help families who have been affected by such tragedies, the Kids’ Chance of North Carolina Scholarship was established to help the children of workers who have been left badly injured or deceased in workplace incidents.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be the dependent of a worker left seriously injured, deceased, or who experienced a debilitating illness due to a work-related incident in North Carolina. Applicants must also be between the ages of 16 and 25 and have been accepted to or be enrolled in a college or technical school.
Recipients selected for the reward may earn up to $5,000 to go towards their education, depending upon a student’s financial need. To find other scholarships you may be eligible for, we recommend checking out our other North Carolina scholarships, scholarships for students with a disabled parent, and need-based scholarships. Good luck with your scholarship search!
