    Scholarship Overview

    Beyond its famous football team, Kansas City, Missouri is noted for hosting some of the best barbecue countrywide and its role in pushing jazz to prominence throughout the United States. If you are a high school junior lucky to be from Kansas City or one of its surrounding counties, the Kansas City Scholars – Traditional 11th Grade Scholarship may be a great fit for you!

    To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be 11th graders who are either home-schooled or attend a public, charter, or private high school in Cass, Clay, Jackson, or Platte County in Missouri, or Johnson or Wyandotte County in Kansas. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA or at least a 16 on the ACT or at least an 800 on the SAT and be income eligible (FAFSA Student Aid Index of 12,000 or less).

    Each year, at least 250 scholarships are awarded. They are paid over the course of six (6) years, directly to recipients’ colleges, and are valued at up to $50,000 total.
