Offered by Silicon Valley Community Foundation
Growing up, the Mannina family of San José felt that they could achieve they dreams through the support of their local community. To return the kindness, they established the Julie Gerhardt-Mannina Scholarship to “support the education of the underserved and underrepresented Latinx population on the east side of San José.” If you’re a high school senior of color from San José with plans to attend San Jose State University, you may be eligible for the scholarship!
To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must either be ethnic/racial minorities or immigrants who are in their final year of high school at Andrew P. Hill High School, Foothill High School, James Lick High School, Mt. Pleasant High School, or Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School in San Jose, California. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate unmet financial need, and have plans to enroll at San Jose State University.
Each year, recipients will be chosen to earn up to $8,000 per year to go towards their post-secondary education.
