Offered by American Nuclear Society
Nuclear science is a field that involves studying the nucleus of an atom, the fundamental part of everything around us. People are included in this, with each of us being composed of an astronomically large number of atoms. The field of nuclear science itself is used today to understand how atoms come together, interact, and can be combined to create new, more efficient materials and medicines. If you have an interest in this field, the American Nuclear Society may have a perfect scholarship opportunity for you!
The John and Muriel Landis Scholarship annually awards up to $5,000 each to five (5) high school seniors, undergraduate, or graduate students planning for a career in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field and be enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university located in the United States. Special consideration will be given to applicants with conditions or experiences that render the student disadvantaged (English as a Second Language, physical handicap, lack of undergraduate preparation, etc.), however, it is not required to apply.
