Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder primarily affecting the lungs, pancreas, digestive tract, and other organs. It causes individuals’ mucus, sweat, and digestive juices, which are usually slippery and thin to allow for ease of movement throughout the body, to instead become sticky and thick, clogging up pathways to the lungs, pancreas, and more. If you are a current or incoming undergraduate student fighting a personal battle against Cystic Fibrosis, the Jamie Bax Memorial Scholarship may be a great opportunity for you.
Established in honor of Jamie Bax, a beloved daughter, artist, and photographer who fought against her own CF, the scholarship annually awards $2,000 – $5,000 scholarships to three (3) incoming or current undergraduates who have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit a completed application, including an essay, three (3) letters of recommendation, proof of admission, a photograph of themselves, and a transcript to be considered for the scholarship.
