Public safety officers, whether working as firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical technicians, or highway emergency response officers, work day and night to keep the public safe. Many even risk possible disability or death in the line of duty. To honor the bravery of these important individuals, the Georgia Public Safety Memorial Scholarship was established to help the dependents of public safety officers in Georgia afford and attend college.
To be eligible for this scholarship worth up to $18,000 per year, individuals must be the dependent child or spouse of a Georgia Public Safety Officer who was permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty. Applicants must also be legal residents of Georgia and enroll full-time in an eligible in-state public or private college, university, or technical college (see full list below).
If this sounds like a good opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply. Plus, don’t forget to check out our other scholarships for Georgia students and scholarships for students with a disabled parent. Good luck with your scholarship search!
