Offered by Saginaw Community Foundation
Saginaw, a Michigan city established in 1819 as a lumber town, would eventually go on to become a thriving industrial city producing many automobile parts for General Motors. One of its many residents was Frederick R. Strutz, a family man who left instructions upon his passing to create a scholarship to help young Saginaw natives attend college. If you’re a male student graduating from Saginaw United High School or Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, you may be eligible for the Fred R. Strutz Family Memorial Scholarship!
To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship, individuals must be male high school seniors attending Saginaw United High School or Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy. In addition, applicants must reside in the Saginaw Public School District. Recipients will be determined based on their financial need, scholastic record, involvement in community, school and work activities, and application. They may receive the scholarship for up to four years as long as they continue to meet renewal criteria.
