Offered by The American Legion
Participating in ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) is a great way for youth interested in military service to receive training early on. If you’re enrolled in a Florida high school and are a member of the Air Force, Army, Marine, Navy or Coast Guard JROTC, the American Legion may have the perfect scholarship opportunity for you!
To qualify for the Florida JROTC Cadet of the Year Scholarship, individuals must be a JROTC Air Force, Army, Marine, Navy or Coast Guard member who is the child of Florida residents. Applicants must also be enrolled in their final year of a Florida high school and be planning to pursue post-secondary education in the upcoming academic year. Each year, the first-, second-, third-, and fourth-place applicants will be selected to earn $2,500, $1,500, $1,000, and $500, respectively. Bear in mind that only one student from each high school JROTC unit will be accepted to apply. The Senior Military Instructor is responsible for choosing the cadet to receive the application.
