Offered by Community Foundation of North Central Washington
Fern Cousineau Duncan was a beloved art teacher who taught at Wenatchee High School from 1929 to 1959. She would then go on to teach at Wenatchee Community College until her eventual retirement, displaying her lifelong commitment to supporting and teaching the youth of her local community. This passion for helping would continue even after her passing, as she established a scholarship with the funds from her will.
As Mrs. Duncan resided and taught in North Central Washington, applicants for the Fern Cousineau Duncan Art Scholarship must be graduating seniors at a North Central Washington high school. They must also, like Fern, demonstrate a passion for and pursue a career in the field of art, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. To be considered for the scholarship, interested students must submit a portfolio of their work when requested by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
If you’d, like Dawn, like to make a lifelong commitment to art, we encourage you to apply! Then, be sure to check out our other art scholarships and scholarships for Washington residents. Happy applying!
