To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who will be pursuing a degree leading to a career in computer and video game arts and sciences. Applicants must also be part of an underrepresented group in the field (e.g. women, racial/ethnic minorities, etc.), demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at a four-year college or university in the upcoming Fall.

The ESA (Entertainment Software Association) Foundation, for over 25 years, has been dedicated to making the video game space a welcoming industry where everyone can play and create. To do so, they support and work with an ecosystem of students, schools, members, and nongovernmental organizations working in the STEAM space to create opportunities for youth.
