Offered by Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation
Deborah, Leslie, and Christopher Bright were schoolteachers who were strongly passionate about their students receiving a quality, thorough education. To honor this hope of theirs, the Deborah, Leslie, and Christopher Bright Scholarship was established. If you are a Hampshire or Morgan County (West Virginia) high schooler passionate about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math), you may be eligible!
To qualify for the scholarship, students must attend a high school in Hampshire or Morgan County, West Virginia. In addition, they must be planning to pursue in-depth experiences in STEAM-based subjects. Previous examples of this have included attending an astronomy camp, music camp, summer intensives at HARID Conservatory, and even pre-college courses at Brown University. Up to $5,000 will go towards recipients’ funding of these extracurricular camps and courses (and not towards post-secondary educational costs).
If this scholarship sounds like a good fit for you, and you’ve been looking to attend an extracurricular camp or course, we encourage you to apply! Don’t forget to check out our other STEM scholarships, science scholarships, art scholarships, and West Virginia scholarships before you go. Good luck with your scholarship search!
