Captain Jesse Ozbat was a 2002 graduate of Prince George High School and a 2006 graduate of Virginia State University. He served with the 1st and 14th Infantry, 2nd Stryker Brigade in Iraq and with the 168 Brigade Support Battalion in Afghanistan. On May 20, 2012, Captain Ozbat was killed in action in Afghanistan. To honor Captain Ozbat’s legacy of courage, dedication, and leadership, the “Honor Above All” Scholarship is awarded annually.
To be eligible for this $2,000 scholarship, applicants must be graduating seniors or graduates of Prince George High School in Virginia who demonstrate financial need. Priority may be given to a student who has excelled or will major in mathematics. Priority may also be given to a student who is a member of the Prince George High School Junior ROTC program or who is interested in joining the ROTC at the college level. All applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher in order to be eligible.
