Are you a member of the Navajo Nation? If so, you may be interested in applying for the Brown and Caldwell Navajo Nation Scholarship! This $1,000 scholarship (renewable for $4,000 over four years) is open to Navajo Nation members who are passionate about pursuing a career in the environmental profession.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college. High school seniors who have a letter of acceptance from a college or university are also eligible. Applicants must be pursuing a major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering. Students pursuing a degree in one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology) are also welcome to apply. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale) in order to be considered.
To apply, students must submit an essay of 500 words or less describing their role in creating a sustainable world. Two letters of recommendation, an official transcript, a resume, and evidence of a declared major are also required as part of the application process.
