Offered by Community Foundation of Central Georgia
The Brad Edwards Scholarship Fund was created by the Joe and Pat Edwards Family in memory of their son, Brad, who attended Lamar County High School. He passed away in an automobile accident while a freshman at Oxford College of Emory University in 1990.
To support college-bound students graduating from Lamar County High School, the Community Foundation of Central Georgia is awarding a $1,000 scholarship (renewable for up to $4,000) to one student annually. Applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, be accepted at an accredited four-year college or university, and plan to enroll as a full time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Applicants will be selected based on their moral character, respect for others, and participation in extracurricular school activities, community or religious organizations, and overcoming adversity. Financial need and academic achievement will also be considered.
To apply, interested students should submit a resume listing their school and community activities, their most recent high school transcript, and a current, submitted FAFSA Student Aid Report.
