Offered by American Indian Services
In the past few years, the rates of Native American individuals (aged 25+) with college degrees have increased – from 13.9% in 2013 to 16.8% in 2023. While this is an incredible improvement, the rate remains lower than that of the national average of 36.2%. To encourage young Native American and Alaska Native youth to pursue a college education, American Indian Services is generously offering a $5,000 – $20,000 scholarship!
To qualify, individuals must be Native American/Alaska Native students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program. Applicants must also be an enrolled member of a U.S. Federally Recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Tribe/Entity or a direct descendant of a base roll member, have a minimum 2.25 GPA, and complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for the scholarship.
The scholarship is offered twice a year, with the cycles running from May 1st – July 1st and from September 1st – November 1st. If you sound like a fit for this scholarship, we encourage you to apply! But don’t stop there – there are many other scholarships for Native American students available on Scholarships360. Good luck with your scholarship search!
