  • The scholarship website has many grammatical errors and/or advertisements
  • The scholarship or scholarship providing organization seem untrustworthy
  • There is no evidence the scholarship was previously awarded

Scholarship Overview

Are you a high school senior from the Central Valley (California) who plans on enrolling in a postsecondary institution? More importantly, do you believe in the importance of mental health awareness? If so, consider applying for the Race to End the Stigma Scholarship Program. Dedicated to ending the stigma on mental health, the Carlos Vieira Foundation offers an annual $1,000 scholarship to students who believe in the importance of mental health and who reside in one of twenty-one California counties (see full list under “Eligibility Information”). To apply, interested students must write a 500 – 1,000 word essay answering one of the mental health-related prompts.
